The Scottish children’s acuity measurement in paediatric settings (SCAMPS) staffing level tool was developed to explore and record the variety and range of complexity of nursing workload within children’s inpatient wards across NHS Scotland.
The tool is designed to be used on a daily basis, with data recorded separately for the day and night cycle, for each child or young person present on the ward.
