Summary
We are developing standards for maternity care.
Maternity care standards will support:
-
national consistency
-
promote improvements in the delivery of holistic maternity services
The standards will not cover the following areas:
- development of our quality indicators or key performance indicators
- implementation of the standards, this will be for local determination
The scope of these standards has been agreed and published in the scoping report that you can find on this page. We are now in the process of developing these standards. We expect to publish the draft standards for public consultation in May 2025
