We are working to develop a suite of real-time staffing (RTS) resources for key service areas.
The aim of these is to provide a mechanism for assessment and recording real time:
- workforce demand
- risks
- the mitigations and escalation taken to address workforce challenges and provide safe care
These will support health and care services to assess real time staffing and risk. Both are specified within the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019. This includes the requirement to capture severe and recurrent risk.
The reporting function allows you to view staffing data over time. It will help identify areas at risk at a glance.
RTS resources are being developed on the TURAS platform. This is along with a reporting dashboard. The dashboard will provide oversight of services as an interim solution. Then we will use the national e-rostering and the RLDatix SafeCare System. Both systems are being rolled out across and within all boards.
