Inspections of NHS hospitals and services

By inspecting care we help to ensure that NHS healthcare services are:

  • meeting the required standards of care
  • good practice is identified
  • areas for improvement are addressed

Our inspectors undertake announced and unannounced inspections of healthcare services. These will involve a physical inspection of the clinical areas, and discussions with staff.

We currently have the inspection programmes:

  • inspections of acute hospitals
