We maintain and publish a register of Scottish Controlled Drugs Accountable Officers (CDAO). We do this under the Controlled Drugs Regulations 2013.
Under these regulations designated bodies in Scotland have to appoint an accountable officer. They are responsible for ensuring the safe and effective:
- use of controlled drugs
- management of controlled drugs
They do this for the organisations they oversee.
Organisations need to notify us of the details of the person nominated to take on this role.
