Summary
We carried out an unannounced inspection to Golden Jubilee University National Hospital on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 November 2023 using our safe delivery of care inspection methodology.
During our inspection, we:
- inspected the ward and hospital environment
- observed staff practice and interactions with patients, such as during patient mealtimes
- spoke with patients, visitors and ward staff
- accessed patients’ health records, monitoring reports, policies, and procedures
Our findings
This inspection resulted in five areas of good practice, one recommendation and three requirements.
“During our inspection patients described good levels of care and we saw staff treating patients with respect, dignity and compassion. Areas for improvement include accurate completion of care documentation, safe storage of cleaning products and maintenance and repairs of the healthcare environment.”
