Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) discovery survey programme
Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) is a lightweight form of concrete. It was used primarily in roof construction in the UK from the mid-1950s to late 1980s. There are some instances of it being found in buildings in the early 1990s.
Summary
We believe it was used in a wide range of buildings in both the private and public sector. NHSScotland Assure is therefore carrying out a RAAC Discovery Survey Programme. This is on behalf of Scottish Government. This programme will identify and risk assess any RAAC panels found across the NHSScotland estate.
